Soup Benefits for Healthy Sleep in Children

Dear Parents,
We all know perfectly well that good sleep is one of the most important factors supporting the proper development of our little ones.
If you want your child to sleep well, do not stuff him with bread and rolls, and instead…
Serve a much more easily digestible and at the same time stabilising blood glucose level plate of warm soup, especially in broth.
Why?
Due to their cooking process and warm serving, soups are easily digestible and warming. Unlike raw and cold foods, they do not burden the digestive system before nightfall or slow down its work.
Soups are filling, especially soups in homemade broth, thanks to the fat content and free amino acids that passed into the soup during the cooking process.
- Broth soups supplement minerals, thanks to which they allow for a peaceful sleep.
- Broth soups support regeneration because they contain free amino acids and nucleotides, thanks to which the body receives the necessary building blocks, and at night, during sleep, it can easily use them.
- Soups with the addition of millet (previously cooked and cooled in the fridge) or cream soups support good bacteria because during cooling in starchy vegetables and, e.g., millet, the starch is converted into resistant starch, which is a great prebiotic, i.e., food for good bacteria!
Remember to eat your last meal no later than 7:30 p.m. and 2 hours before going to bed so that your digestive system has time to digest the food and to allow your liver to detox peacefully (in Chinese medicine, the liver cleanses itself between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m.).
Bon appétit to you and your little ones.
Yours, Dr Aleksandra 🦋
