Does a breastfeeding mother have to be on a special diet?
The answer is: no!
Most breastfeeding mothers do not have to follow any special diet. Food does not affect the quality of milk, so you can eat your favorite foods without worrying (of course, it is worth eating healthy products)!
The only exception? Cow’s milk protein allergy in a child. It most often manifests itself through a rash, tummy problems (colic, diarrhea, vomiting), and sometimes even blood in the stool or breathing problems. If the child has such an allergy, the mother should avoid milk and its products
Important – an allergy to cow’s milk protein in a child during infancy does not mean that the child will always have it. It is worth consulting an allergist to know how to expand the diet of such a baby.
