When should children start learning to swim

Are you wondering when is the right time for your child to start their swimming or other sports adventure?

5 years old is the perfect time!

Why?

  1. Physical development: At this age, children already have enough muscle strength and coordination to learn to swim. Their body is ready for new movement challenges.
  2. Emotional development: Five-year-olds are more confident and prepared for independence, which is crucial when learning to swim.
  3. Social development: Sports activities in a group help in making new friendships, teaching cooperation and healthy competition.
  4. Safety: Early swimming lessons increase safety in the water. Children learn how to behave in water and how to avoid danger.

Of course, we can splash around with our children at an earlier age, but let’s not be surprised that the child has difficulty learning things like riding a bike on two wheels or skiing, their body is simply not ready for it.
